General Practitioner
My name is Dr Shaimaa. I am originally from Egypt and hold a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), awarded in 2007. Before relocating to Australia in 2019, I worked in emergency departments in both Egypt and Oman, gaining valuable experience in acute and urgent patient care.
Since moving to Australia, I have worked across public and private hospitals in Western Australia and Victoria. Over the past four years, I have worked at St John of God Midland Public and Private Hospital and Bunbury Hospital. I have also worked in Victoria at Mildura Base Private Hospital, Sunshine Hospital, and Footscray Hospital for a further three years, caring for diverse patient populations across multiple specialties.
In the first half of this year, I worked at Wellington Medical Centre in Harvey, where I gained valuable experience in general practice, caring for patients of all ages and backgrounds. This role further strengthened my skills in managing a wide range of medical conditions while building meaningful relationships with patients from diverse communities.
I am currently nearing completion of the Diploma of Emergency Medicine with the Australian College of Emergency Medicine (ACEM). I enjoy the diversity of general practice and am committed to providing holistic, patient-centred care tailored to each individual.
Outside of work, I enjoy baking, camping, travelling, and spending quality time with my family and friends.
